between dreaming and waking

Ask me anything   "For my part I know nothing with any certainty, but the sight of the stars makes me dream."

The word werewolf derives from Old English wer/were and wulf. The first part, wer, translates as “man.” An alternative etymology derives from Old English weri (to wear); in this case “werewolf” would indicate a warrior who wore wolf-pelts, noted for his uncontrollable battle rage. A third possible derivation is from warg-wolf/vargulf, a term referring to a rogue wolf.

The term lycanthropy comes from Ancient Greek λυκάνθρωπος (lykánthropos): λύκος (lýkos) (“wolf”) + άνθρωπος (ánthrōpos) (“human”).

    mythology meme:  [3/3] mythical rulers

↳ romulus and remus of alba longa

Twin sons of Mars and Rhea Silvia, they were nursed by a she-wolf as infants and raised by a simple shepherd and his wife. Once they reached adulthood, they helped overthrow the false king of Alba Longa. Rather than press their own claim to the throne, however, they decided to restore the rightful king, and found a new city of their own. A disagreement arose, concerning the location of this new city; the brothers fought and Remus was killed. Romulus founded Rome and brought it glory, but as the years passed he became increasingly autocratic, and in the end either disappeared, ascended to the heavens to become a god in his own right, or was killed by the Senate, depending on the particular version of the myth.

appreciate brown eyes more bc the people with brown eyes are grown up forcing to believe fuckin blue and green and grey are beautiful and either detest or get incredibly happy when someone compliments their eye color stop letting this happen

there are people with brown eyes reblogging this and theyre talking about still being sad with their eye color and this is exactly why we need hype about brown eyes

Varric Tethras is one part adventurous rogue, one part dashing storyteller, and three parts trouble. Born on the surface, Varric has little love for his underground brethren - all his contacts lie with the dwarves of the Merchants Guild, though he has little taste for their schemes. Still, he has found a place as an outsider, rubbing shoulders with both the wealthy elite as well as the worst of scoundrels. To hear him tell of it, that’s all he truly cares about, though anyone who truly knows him claims differently. They say that, try as he might, Varric has been drawn more and more into conflicts that shake the world - ones that he can’t get himself out of with a quick tale. (x)

    100 Days of Dragon Age

7/22: How do you plan to run your first play through? Will you have a strong Military, Commerce connection, or Spy network?

I think, I’m leaning towards commerce and diplomacy, because I’m not too keen on spy networks and neither on brute force. And I prefer a face to face conflict instead of backstabbing.
